ri-thermo® N Clinical Thermometer
ASTM E1965-98 is a specification for infrared thermometers which it defines as “electronic instruments intended for the intermittent measurement and monitoring of patient temperatures by means of detecting the intensity of thermal radiation between the subject of measurement and the sensor.” Tympanic thermometers that meet this specification accurately measure a person’s internal body temperature by measuring the thermal emission from the ear canal.
The Riester ri-thermo® N clinical thermometer comes in a standard version with a plastic case and 25 probe covers or in a professional version with a smart dispenser box with 100 probe covers for table or pocket use. It can also come as an extension module for the ri-former® modular diagnostic station. In all cases, the thermometer is the same and for this reason, this course covers both the ri-thermo® N Clinical Thermometer and the ri-thermo® N Professional Clinical Thermometer.
This course will introduce you to the Riester ri-thermo® N tympanic thermometer in 2 parts, followed with a short quiz:
